Dear Colleagues and Pet Owners,
Alaska Mobile Veterinary Surgery, LLC continues to function at a limited capacity in response to the recent mandates intended to manage the COVID-19 outbreak. We are tasked with offering appropriate care to our patients, minimizing human-to-human interaction and minimizing the use of personal protective equipment. As such, the surgical case load has been limited to emergent and urgent cases only. The definition of what constitutes an “emergency” or an “urgency” will ultimately rest squarely upon my shoulders. To minimize human-to-human interaction and adhere to the current travel-restriction mandates, I have made arrangements to operate on all cases at either Midnight Sun Animal Hospital and Emergency Care or Pet Emergency Treatment, Inc. I am grateful for the generosity of both of these hospitals as they both offer excellent patient care and they are adhering to all current mandates to ensure the health and safety of clients and staff.
In order for me to see patients, referring veterinary hospitals will still need to fill out a referral form on this website. Kate Slodowy will then facilitate scheduling from that point forward. When necessary, referring veterinarians may contact me directly at any time.
Sadly, owing to the travel-restriction mandates, I will not be able to travel outside of the Anchorage Bowl and the Matanuska-Susitna Valley for the foreseeable future. Travel to Eagle River, Wasilla and Palmer will have to be extremely limited and those patients, when necessary, will be encouraged to travel to Anchorage.
I will continue to be available to owners of previously seen patients and colleagues via telephone and via email.
Gia, Kate and I sincerely appreciate your understanding at this unusual time!
Respectfully,
Nelson H. Priddy II, DVM
